I have been awaiting the snow since the end of October. Last year the first snow came at October 23rd. This year we have only seen traces of it. The only thing we can see is rain, mud and ice. I am dead tired of it.
These days I would take my mares with me and move to Spain any minute! Wish it would be easier to find a job there, I wouldn't hesitate much you see.
Well, Infanta is having a unplanned rest for 10 days or so.. I guess it wasn't a bad idea actually. She has been working quite hard

At Saturday my good friend Germán arrange a ride for us. We lent two horses and followed the others in the stable out riding in the lovely nature. It was a wonderful break from SICAB; all the noise and people is tiresome. Linda had a smile on her face all day, and the next day I can tell you. It was great! Afterwards we were with Germán’s lovely family, eating dinner and talking. They are great! I miss them already..
Well, I rode Germán’s family’s horse, a little chestnut mare. I asked Linda

So, now I’m back home again from 6 days in Seville, Spain. Not having access to the internet is a good, and a bad thing. This time I guess it was more of a good thing.
Linda and I lived in the centre of Seville, close to a bus stop for the bus to SICAB. I had it all planned out, and everything worked out perfectly.
I have met many interesting people this year; I guess it helps when you can speak a bit Spanish. I met breeders, riders, and other interesting people, and we were at an important

Wow, time flies! This summer and autumn I have been very busy with work and Spanish studies.
Preciosa has been adjusting here, at her new stable, very well, even though her mother is the only one pushing her around. Being just a baby has it's advantages when being around adult horses. This autumn I have worked her a bit on the lounge, some NH-traing, over cavaletti and some show training. Now it´s time for a bit more work. She¨s super calm, learns quickly and is very focused on

This weekend we had the opportunity to get some help from Maria Barnardo. Maria is studying to become a Equine Physiotheraupist, I think that might be the English name for it. I hope someone will correct me if I m wrong. Maria has finished the Saddle Fitting part of her education and she is a Certified Saddle Fitter. Now she is doing the training part for the Certified Equine Massage-exam. So, she massages different kind of horses. In this way, Infanta got the opportunity to feel her magic

I had good friends on visit during this holiday, Malin and Hector, who I met while living in Valladolid, Spain, for a short while. Of course, they had to see dear Infanta and Malin also tried her.
Unfortunately we didn't have very much luck with the weather. Two minutes after I started to ride, it started to rain heavily, and of course, there was thunder and lightning. We took cover and waited for almost 10 minutes. Then we decided to ride anyway. I continued for a short while, just warminig up

Wow, the hot summer came suddenly. About 25 degrees Celsius and the poor horses are quite warm, not used to this heat just yet. I decided not to ride, but let Infanta be in the stable for a while, away from the sun and the heat. Think she was just happy for that!
Today I work, and next week will be 20-25 degrees.. Like Spain in the spring, I guess. I will be riding gently tomorrow, and at Wednesday we'll have a private lesson for Åsa again. Looking forward to that! :-)

Well, as you might have noticed, I have FINALLY updated the webpage. I have been, kind of busy. Working 100-200%, studying Spanish (50%) and also taking care and riding Infanta. Yes, strange how I manage to get it all together sometimes, but I had some good help from some people in the stables with takng care of Infanta the days I have been working. And they have been planty sometimes. Thank you!
Back to the horses. Preciosa was yesterday; 145 cm at withers and 149 at crop. Age 13,5 months.

So, Preciosa is now weaned off her mother and is moved to Seglinge for a while. She now lives with horses her age in a loose-house , eats ad lib of good haysilage, moves a lot without mum. I miss her a lot though. Since it is so far way and Infanta is at another location, it is difficult for me to get there often. She has to be there for a while now, it's the best for her, but not for me.
Infanta is doing well. After a rest I will start to ride her soon. I hope to find a good

Summer 2010. August or september I think. So, let's start with some pics from the summer. We were hacking out a few times s Preciosa and Infanta could see something different and learn how to lift their hooves and watch we're going. Hard lesson for little Preciosa at first, but she sure loved being free in the middle of the Swedish Forest. Some pics: Hiking out. Hacking out with veterans; Hefill (lead) and Amstel(in front of Preciosa). Behind mummy. Old man Amstel is showing the way for the Spanish

How interesting.. Everything I wrote disappeared twice.. REALLY annoying.. Carriage driving. Showers. Entry. Stallions waiting. Preparing. SHOPPING! Walking is included in the riding tests. And by hand. Evaluated. Mares are kept inside in small open boxes, some with foals. Animap protecion is.. different..

I have been experiencing som login problems lately, so I have to write several raports I guess.
Well, I guess l have to start with my recent visit in Seville. I visited a very good friend and his family and SICAB of course.
This time I seemed to be a bit "off" , probably because I'm not going to cover Infanta this year, and I have to wait at least 2 years to find a suitable mate for Preciosa.
I have always loved the fantasic horses from Yeguada Ferrero, and they were very successful this time. Fer

This weekend one of my friends, Linn, visited us. She took some pics of the most charming Preciosa and also helped out so we could all hack out. Two older geldings, me and Infanta and Preciosa, led by my friend Linn, had a great time riding in the forest. Preciosa had a great time, but became very tired when she had to be careful where to put here little hooves. I think it was great exercise for both mum and daughter and we all enjoyed it. Linn took some pics when we were out, I hope to fix

A couple of weeks ago we moved to a horseyard closer to Uppsala. It takes maximum 15 min by car from my house (in the city of Uppsala) and it is also on the way to my job. Infanta and Preciosa are held at approx 4 ha of grass; plenty of room and also a small wood area which they can use for shelter. They also have a large loose box in the stable (about 15 square meters) where they can rest.
I am there at least once a day, often twice. It's great having the horses close, it is easy to just go

It is very difficult to know in advance how a foal is gong to look like when it's fully grown. Some people have a great eye for that, and these people are often highly successful.
I was told a long time ago that you can look at the foal when it's 3 days, 3 months and 3 years old to get a picture of how it will look like as an adult. There between it should not be allowed to be seen :-) Well, I suppose different breeds develop differently. Infanta has grown very nicely, without

It's been hot, hot, hot here during the last days. The horses prefers a lower temperature while we Swedes are thursting for sunrays and are trying to enjoy every minute of it. The winter is long here, and this one has not only been long, it has been extremly cold. I don't mind :-)
Well, enough said about the weather. I haven't found the cables yet, which means I have some pics in my camera, but they are kind of stuck there. I hope t get some pics soon so you can follow our little Precious.

Time goes fast! Preciosa, "Prissan", is growing really fast and I had to change the halter to a size bigger last week. She is now used to walk with leadrope together with her mum everyday to the paddock. She is very easy to handle and she has a perfect temper. Everyone loves her, how can they not? In a few days my friends are expecting foals, I hope they will hurry up, Prissan wants playmates!

It seems like everytime I go to visit Preciosa and Infanta somebody is already there petting them. Strange, what is it with foals that make them so adorable? Well, Preciosa is full of energy, a lot of it. Mammy doesn't allow her to run around without her and gets angry everytime she moves away from here. So far we have led Preciosa in front of Infanta since she stops if she can't see the foal. She isn't sure that the foal is following here it seems. But how is the foal to learn if mommy is
|
..is now all that we think about. Mommy Infanta is very very protective and that is a good sign. Preciosa herself is very cool and interested in humans and is wearing the headcollar every day. She's gonna be a fantastic horse to work with. Here is a pic of Infanta a week before the birth of our new star.

Infanta is happy with being outside just during the day. I suppose it's much more relaxing that way, instead of taking care of all the others and being outside 24 h a day at the loosehouse system.
The foal is kicking so hard in there, it can easily be seen from a distance. It's like he/she is trying to kick his/her way out of there! I hope he/she can wait just a few weeks more. The udder is developing nicely, it's getting bigger by the day! Infanta does not take to kindly of us touching and
